The team at 5 discussed the critical topic of increased capacity costs in PJM and the financial...
Ben started his energy career in 2008 working with residential electricity customers across North America. Eventually, he expanded his knowledge and began helping commercial and industrial clients to better understand their own purchasing options throughout the United States and several other countries with deregulated power markets. Ben sought a company and platform that could support his growing list of more complex commercial and industrial accounts, ultimately becoming a member of the team at 5 in 2013.
Today, Ben is a National Energy Advisor and continues to serve both commercial and industrial customers across North America. Ben’s financial background and expertise enable him to provide the kind of advice his customers need that will help them manage their energy expenses and develop strategies that will lower their costs over time.
Ben has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. He lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Maygan, his son Jack, and daughter Ella. In Ben’s spare time he enjoys golf, snowboarding, Mexican food, and fishing. He also loves to read and is most interested in books that help him to understand how others think and the motivations behind their behaviors.
Ben’s Why: “At first, it was simply about finding the best solution for my clients, where I knew the client would receive the highest quality of advice while also having their best interest put before anyone else’s. Then I learned 5 was way more about changing an industry, competing with what’s possible, and creating a culture where fully formed adults could thrive and grow. Now, my why is to contribute to 5’s mission and along the way help as many clients as I can understand “there is a better way.”
