Steve Duron

Pit Crew, Utility Wrangler

Steve Duron

Steve Duron has been helping clients to manage complex issues and overcome utility-related hurdles before the electricity market in Texas deregulated. Steve applies his extensive knowledge in utility design, metering, outage troubleshooting, and new construction to serve a wide variety of client needs as 5’s construction services team lead, aka Utility Wrangler. In this role, Steve also works as a liaison between clients, energy advisors, electricians, civil engineers, architects, and the utilities throughout regulated and deregulated regions of the US.

Steve started his career at TXU Energy in 1998 serving as a Business Development Representative and construction specialist. He was a part of the TXU transition team that prepared the company for deregulation. It was there he learned the order management processes that can cause issues in clients successfully being able to receive power. He transitioned to the energy advisory space when he joined 5 during the firm’s first year of operations. His impact on clients continues to expand far and wide as he helps to ensure that construction projects are completed with accurate and timely utility installations, which is not an easy task.

Steve studied Philosophy at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is an active working musician as lead singer and rhythm guitarist in his band, Wind-Up Monkey’s, as well as a member of the Fielder Church praise team. Steve also passionately volunteers his time as a coach in Arlington Southwest Little League. He loves speaking in front of people and sharing the journey of his son’s adoption. He lives in Mansfield, Texas with his wife, Bonnie, of 36 years, and 11-year-old son Noah.
