In his role as Vice President, Rakesh oversees Luthin’s Commodity Management Department, which is responsible for the competitive procurement of electricity, natural gas, and oil, analysis of utility rates and tariffs, and financial feasibility studies for distributed generation projects. He works directly with clients, monitoring energy markets, and developing customized strategies.

Rakesh has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and has also received certification as a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) from the Association of Energy Engineers. In 2020, Rakesh was appointed to the Commercial Buildings and Pathways Working Group that assists the Advisory Board for NYC's Local Law 97.

Rakesh’s Why: “Energy is a basic necessity for sustenance and progress. Here I have the perfect platform to work closely with talented people who have the shared vision to provide best-in-class service and support to demanding New York City energy consumers.”
