As Director of Technology at 5, Ian Howarth leads the development team with a focus on expanding and improving the business systems that support our daily operations. Just as important, he works to build visibility across teams, helping create shared understanding and forward-thinking solutions for upcoming challenges and innovations.

He holds a BSc in Computer Games Programming from Huddersfield University in the UK and brings a creative, systems-based approach to solving complex problems. Ian joined 5 to take on meaningful challenges in a dynamic industry and to be part of a team where people come first.

Fun fact: Ian has the biggest board game collection of anyone you know. He’s passionate about learning through play and often explores how game theory can help explain real-world behavior and decision-making.
