5 Recognized as TEPA's Consultant of the Year

November 19, 2025

Written By: 5

5 Honored as TEPA’s ABC of the YearTEPA 2025 ABC Winner

At The Energy Professionals Association’s (TEPA) National Conference on November 5, 2025, our team at 5 was honored with the ABC (Aggregator, Broker, Consultant) of the Year Award. While we are deeply grateful for this recognition, we also feel a strong sense of humility. TEPA is filled with companies and individuals whose work we admire, being acknowledged by our suppliers who understand the demands and complexities of the energy industry at scale carries special meaning.

A Recognition Rooted in Our Values

Everything we do at 5 is anchored in our five core values: Communicate Openly and Honestly, Define Excellence, Do the Right Thing, Have Fun, and Make an Impact. These principles guide how we approach each client relationship, how we build our internal culture, and how we contribute to the broader energy marketplace.

Receiving the ABC of the Year Award suggests that the way we try to live these values is visible in our work, not only in the impact we make, but in the manner in which we serve. For us, that is the most meaningful part of this recognition.

Growing Toward a Level 5 Culture

From the beginning, we set out to build what the Tribal Leadership framework calls a Level 5 organization, a culture defined not by personal or organizational ego, but by shared purpose, mutual trust, and the belief that together we can accomplish more than any of us could individually.

A Level 5 mindset is marked by collaboration, humility, and a focus on elevating others. It shapes how we handle complex procurement work, how we communicate with clients, and how we partner across the energy industry. While we know we are still growing toward this ideal, this award encourages us that the path we’re on is the right one.

Our Team’s Quiet, Consistent Work

Any recognition we receive is a reflection of the people who work at 5.

  • Energy Advisors who listen carefully and put client interests first.

  • Analysts who help clients navigate volatile markets with clarity and discipline.

  • Operations and support teams who bring structure, accuracy, and transparency to every stage of the energy procurement process.

Their dedication, much of it behind the scenes, makes the experience of working with 5 what it is. This award simply gives us an opportunity to acknowledge their steady and thoughtful work.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

We are grateful to TEPA for fostering a community committed to education, ethics, and professionalism in the energy industry. We are equally grateful to our clients and supplier partners who challenge us, trust us, and continually push us to refine and elevate our work.

We are grateful to TEPA for fostering a community committed to education, ethics, and professionalism in the energy industry. With its members involved in approximately 80% of all commercial and industrial energy transactions in the U.S., TEPA represents a meaningful and influential cross-section of the market, making our place in this community a genuine privilege.

This award is not an endpoint for us. Instead, it serves as a reminder to continue leaning into our core values, strengthening our culture, and growing toward the Level 5 organization we aspire to be. We look forward to continuing that journey and to serving the industry and the clients who make that work meaningful.

Thank you to TEPA, and to everyone who has walked with us on this path.
